UCL | REAL MADRID v INTER ODDS & TIPS

Focus

On the last day of the group stage, Inter will be able to enjoy the magical atmosphere of a temple like the "Bernabeu" without too many worries in a great match against Real Madrid that could be worth the first place in group D. Just the victory of Carlo Ancelotti's Blancos at Sheriff Tiraspol's home on the last day gave the Nerazzurri the mathematical qualification for the round of 16.

Objective finally achieved after three seasons full of European disappointments, in which first Luciano Spalletti and Antonio Conte then failed to qualify for the knockout phase. Simone Inzaghi did it at the first try, who after an uncertain start (draw with Shakhtar and defeat with Real at San Siro) was able to get back on track thanks to the double success against the Moldovans and the decisive victory against the Ukrainians by De Zerbi, obtained two weeks ago. We are therefore playing for primacy. And the possibility of having a "simpler" draw when, from February, it starts to get serious. Real Madrid have two points more and therefore two out of three results available: if they draw Inter they would still finish second.

The latest news on lineups

Real Madrid

Ancelotti will rest Benzema, who was injured in the match against Real Sociedad. The French striker will not be deployed as a starter also in a derby perspective with Atletico Madrid. Space therefore for the Serbian center forward Jovic, surrounded by Asensio and Vinicius. He could enter in corso Bale, on his way to recovery, while Dani Ceballos is among the big absentees, who is still working separately.

Inter

Correa has stopped, but the Argentine is not the only one absent: Darmian and Ranocchia will also be missing. On the night of the "Bernabeu" De Vrij should return to starter after a bad injury, while Dumfries and Calhanoglu will be confirmed. Lautaro Martinez is back in attack, remaining on the bench in the 0-3 trimmed against Roma last Saturday.

Probable Lineups

REAL MADRID (4-3-3): Courtois; Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Mendy; Modric, Casemiro, Kroos; Asensio, Jovic, Vinicius.

INTER (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Perisic; Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez.

My Prediction

A different match is expected from that of the first leg, which was contracted and extremely balanced, resolved only in the final by a goal from madridista Rodrygo. Both should be on target this time around, with Real Madrid almost certainly avoiding defeat. A Draw cannot be ruled out.
